Introduction To Media Representations

Lo:to explore the narrative structure of a film 

The term representation:
-The media offers the audience am interpretation of the world 
-It is a re presentation of the events,people and places 

Stereotypical:
A stereotype is a generalised representation of a person, place or thing. They are limited and often offensive or used for comedy. 

-Nanny: stereotypically a female
-Nurse: female, respectful, reliable 
-Teenager: male, disobedient, argumentative, disrespectful, moody 
-Astronaut: male, strong 
-Football player: male, dramatic, violent 
-Opera fan: often seen as a male, 
-Teacher: female, patient, coffee lovers 
-Tattoo lover: mostly seen as male, trouble, strong 

In the trailer, the children are acting disobedient, loud and troublesome meanwhile the teachers react calmly and maturely towards the situations. The children especially the year 9 girls are represented as disruptive, naughty, loud and disrespectful. Whilst one of the teachers is represented as enthusiastic, stressed, energetic, patient, passionate, but is also struggling with class management and the behaviour with some of the students. 
When in class the students use bad language and violence towards classmates and the teacher whilst they are trying to teach meaning the teenagers are represented as rude and not well disciplined.

Trailers & Genre

Wednesday 12th January  Lo: to explore the different features of iMovie & experiment with different genre features  family/comedy- horror I chose toy story trailer 4 which is a comedy and fiction film into a horror genre by changing the music, catchy suspense text, using fade to black endings of each scene to create a new different genre of the trailer.  WWW: used the scary scenes to make it seem worse , as well as graphics. EBI: take out more talking scenes to make it more realistic add dialogue into some parts.
