In the beginning of the story-  A boy named Thomas is put into a maze with a group of other people and cant remember anything, but just flashbacks. he wanted to become one of the maze runners and find a way out but instead he was mistreated and thrown in a cell.
In the middle of the story- Newt (one of Thomas's friends) helped him out and carried on with the rest of the day. The maze runners were taking to long, and the maze doors were starting to close. Thomas saw them in the distance but weren't gonna make it in time so Thomas ran in just before the doors closed leaving him Minho and another maze runner in the maze. Leaving them with a risk to die.  
In the end of the story- Thomas in the main maze runner and figures out how to get out of the maze. The exit the maze, but gally got infected by a creeper and kills one of Thom's best friends-Chucky.

The most important things that happens in the film- was Thomas meeting teresa as they had met each other before, Thomas finding out a way to get out of the maze, Thomas running into the maze for the fist time and surviving in there for a night.  

Narrative Theory: Todorov 
A film's narrative is the story of the film and is broken into 5 key stages by theorist Tzvetan Todorov:
-Equilibrium 
-Disruption 
-Recognition of disruption 
-Attempt to solve disruption 
-New Equilibrium 


Equilibrium- Thomas is sent into a maze and is only left with flashbacks of his past, he makes friends and starts wanting to be a maze runner
Disruption- One of the maze runners get injured and cant get past the doors in time and Thomas runs in to help and gets stuck in the maze with Minho and the other runner. 
Recognition of disruption- Thomas finds out what the maze is like and how dangerous it is he follows Minho to survive. 
Attempt to solve disruption- He gets chased by a creature and is about to die, till he runs past a wall that is closing and kills the creature. He makes it back to were his friends where with Minho and find clues in the dead creature. 
New Equilibrium- He finds out more clues and makes it out of the maze with all his friends.

Trailers & Genre

Wednesday 12th January  Lo: to explore the different features of iMovie & experiment with different genre features  family/comedy- horror I chose toy story trailer 4 which is a comedy and fiction film into a horror genre by changing the music, catchy suspense text, using fade to black endings of each scene to create a new different genre of the trailer.  WWW: used the scary scenes to make it seem worse , as well as graphics. EBI: take out more talking scenes to make it more realistic add dialogue into some parts.
